Being 100% honest, I love coffee, but tea holds a special place in my heart. That's why I was so thrilled when I saw Green Tea - and matcha - becoming such a trend in the world. From drinks to food, skincare and even fragrances, tea is taking over and I’m here for it

We already know the perks of drinking green tea - plus it tastes delicious - but this holy ingredient can also works wonders on your skin, and here’s why:

Catechins

Catechins are bioflavonoids found in green tea that have shown to have effective antioxidant, anticancer, antibacterial, and antiviral properties.  Yep, a multitasker.  They have also been known to demonstrate anti-inflammatory functions and benefits.  One of the major catechins found in green tea was shown to be the most effective agent against skin inflammation and cancerous changes in the skin, AKA, a true gift from heaven.

Caffeine

Caffeine is not only found in your daily cup of coffee but can also be found in a cup of green tea. Caffeine doesn't only help you stay awake and help you go throughout your day, but is also a very helpful ingredient for the skin, especially for dark circles and puffiness.  It helps calm inflamed blood vessels that causes dark circles while soothing puffiness and tightening the skin.  So save up those used green tea bags for getting rid of puffy eyes!

Some creative ways to use Green Tea for skincare:

Green Tea Bags: Save and store your used green tea bags in the freezer or fridge for placing them on your eyes on those days you wake up to dark circles or puffy eyes!

Green Tea "quick spritz pick me up" Mist:  Boil filtered water and dunk some green tea and steep for about an hr.  Remove the green tea and let the tea fully cool before placing into a spritzer bottle.  Make sure to keep spritzer bottle refrigerated or kept in a cool place while using.
