The cleanser your face will thank you for using: Real Cica Micellar Cleansing Oil
By Carolina Malis
The road to finding the perfect cleansing oil has been a long one for me. I've tried every type: balms, liquid, thicker ones, lighter ones but there's really just two things I really look for in all of them: to remove makeup easily without me having to rub for hours and for it to be gentle for sensitive skins like mine. I've had the chance to test some real good ones but also some that end up irritating my skin or my eyes, so even after years of trying K-Beauty there's just a few that have made it to my "keepers" list.
Now, if that cleansing oil besides removing makeup and dead skin cells can hydrate my sink in the process then that's a winner, and let me tell you there's just a few of those. Last week I told you about the perks of Cica as used on skincare (https://www.neogenlab.us/blogs/news/neo-i-trending-br-cica-the-superhero-ingredient-that-will-change-your-sensitive-skin-forever) and how Neogen uses it as part of their new cleansing line. In case you need a reminder Cica - short for Centella Asiatica - is an antioxidant-rich herb that acts like a superhero on troubled skin (AKA dry, inflamed, red, sensitive, acne prone or flaky complexions). Its anti-inflammatory properties are incredible to calm down the dermis and heal it, all while repairing the skin barrier which can be easily damaged because of dryness, eczema, sun exposure, aging or other skincare ingredients. Last week we talked about this line's cleansing foam but today it's time to introduce you to the Real Cica micellar Cleansing Oil.
This mild micellar oil is kind of a mix between a cleansing water and a cleansing oil that thoughuly gets rid of dirt, toxins, makeup and impurities caught in our pores while keeping our skin's hydration levels high. It's very very veeeery light, so if you're not much of a balm-cleanser kinda person you'll really enjoy this one. It is not sticky at all and doesn't leave a heavy feeling on the skin - which I deeply appreciate.
One of the perks I like the most about it is how fast and easily it removes makeup. With some cleansing oils I've tried in the past I've had to remove eye and lip makeup with a special remover before even stepping into the oil, but with this one a few rubs and all makeup is absolutely and completely gone.
In terms of formula, this oil is enriched with 5 super soothing ingredientes like Centella Asiatica and Madecasside which help boost your skin hydration levels for a plump complexion, besides soybean oil, bergamot fruit oil, olive fruit oil hyaluronic acid and ceramides which help brighten and active skin cell turnover, plus as it's completely free of mineral oils its safe for all skin types!
You know how when breakouts decide to show up the cleansing step can be a little uncomfortable? With some cleansing oils I feel like I need to be especially cautious when rubbing on top of pimples because of how easily they can get inflamed and red, but this cleansing oil did the absolute opposite! After washing my face I immediately see redness dim down and breakout calm down.
This oil is an absolute catch people. I could try to convince in many forms but I'm just gonna let you try it yourself because you're gonna get just as obsessed as me after the first week.
Have you tried Cica on your skincare routine before? How does it work for you? Let us know in the comments!
