Thankful for Cica: The ingredient that changed my skin forever
By Carolina Malis
Thanksgiving is here and we can already feel it in the air. The city turning orange, pumpkin and apple pie all over and of course everyone getting ready for the parade. In the meantime grateful lists have become a huge trend having everyone share with the world what they're thankful for. On my side? I'm thankful about this beautiful city in the Fall, I'm thankful about all being able to spend this weekend with my best friends during our friendsgiving dinner and I'm thankful for the existence of Cica.
I know, I know, I've talked to you about Cica a lot… A-LOT, but I just can't get enough of it to be completely honest. I'm not lying when I say I use a Cica product at least 6 times a week. It's just such a gentle yet powerful ingredients I feel like the day I met it we got into a long term relationship.
Just in case you haven't read (or heard) me raving about its wonders, Cica (short for Centella Asiatica is a powerful and antioxidant-rich herb that Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine have been using for centuries, but it wasn't until a couple of year ago that it broke into skincare. This plant is known for being not only anti-inflammatory but also super moisturizing and caming. While there's of course other ingredients in the market as effective for these concerns, Cica can provide this benefits without irritation, which makes it the perfect deal for those with sensitive skin.
Neogen is not new to this ingredient. After a long investigation the brand came out with a full collection formulated with this godsend as its base, and I swear to all my skincare gods and gurus my skin changed forever the day I started using it. Curios about which ones are my favorites? Here they are!
This cleansing water with micellar technology cleanses both traces of waste/makeup and impurities out of the skin so easily I have to stop myself from keep going. It not only feels extremely fresh and calming but also helps balance the pH of my skin. It's - of course - enriched with soothing ingredients such as Centella Asiatica (AKA Cica) and Madecassoside which together leave your skin calm, hydrated and smooth. I personally love to use this one in the mornings to remove all the overnight waste.
I'm not lying when I tell you I use this foam almost every day. The Neogen Real Cica Micellar Cleansing Foam is not only a super soft and gentle cleanser for those like me who suffer from sensitive skin, but it doesn't leave my fave tight, which for me is a equivalent to superstar status. Its hypoallergenic formula deeply cleansers makeup resudi, toxins, waste and everything that can be trapped inside your pores, all while hydrating your skin. Can it really get any better than that? Also enriched with Cica and Madecassoside just as the cleansing water, this foam moderates skin pH and leaves it looking fresh and smooth, plus helps out with the redness! Best part? Its formula also contains PHA, which provide the skin with gentle exfoliation suitable for sensitive, irritated and acne prone skin types.
At this point we all know Neogen carries the best exfoliating pads out there, right? Well, I dare to say the overdid themselves with this ones. Let me paint a little picture for you: when you're suffering from acne, redness, hypersensitivity or inflammation, thinking about exfoliating doesn't seem so appealing. That until you run into this pads. They're soaked in an essence that's formulated with - I bet you know already - Cica, which help exfoliation stay gentle. Besides helping reduce the symptoms of all those struggles I mentioned before, these pads help promote collagen production which will reinforce your skin's natural protection barrier. To make it even better, the formula containing hyaluronic acid so even more hydration will embrace you.
What's your favorites use of Cica? Do you use it in your skincare routine?
